Microsoft Word
This article is really more of a diatribe, though this should not make one discard its conclusions out of hand. Although not strictly important to the website, it is preserved here for posterity (rather than being lost in the transfer to this new site).
Microsoft Word (and everything else by Microsoft) is a bloated, horrible piece of software with so many useless features, that you won't have time to shake a stick at them. Just try typing the following into Word 97:
- Two minus signs and a greater than sign: -->
- A less than sign followed by two minus signs: <--
- This smiley: :-)
- This one: :-(
- Or this one: :-|
