Beautiful Security

Beautiful Security is, along with its cousins in the series, a collection on essays on the general theme of the book. The chapters cover a wide variety of security topics: managing logfiles, explaining the web of trust, getting value from security metrics and many more.

The chapters vary in quality and applicability from the excellent piece on PGP by the program's author to one or two barely disguised adverts for the authors' companies. The book isn't intended to be a practical guide, but instead a series of introductory articles.

Readers with an interest in the field (and which sysadmin isn't?) will find a few new practices to think about here, at the cost of spending a couple of chapters demanding to know what on earth the author was thinking.
