The place were true democracy occurs, but people just feel like it does nothing for them. Yet they forget who runs Kingsgate, the Welfare Office, the Accomadation Office, Palatinate. But the think that really gets me is why do so many college exec's slate DSU for failing at everything. Then when they don't know what to do, they call upon DSU to tell them. It's like biting the hand that feeds you.
People say that the people in OSH are corrupt and go out of their way to annoy students. Well DSU is probably just as corrupt, but what's worse is that JCRs are far more corrupt and people just don't realise it.
I also wonder how many college Presidents/Senior Men don't go to DSU Council meetings. When it's stated in their contract that they should be going to them. Are they not doing their job, should they be promoting DSU more than they do. Do they actually know how it works. There lack of understanding means that the average student in a college don't have a clue of what DSU does for them.

What ever you do, don't become a JCR President, then a DSU President. As you'll really muck things up, like trying to hire a train to take a load of students to London. Like that's a good idea. And why does it not work from moving from JCR to DSU President. Well that's simple, the average JCR President doesn't have a clue what goes on in DSU. Ergo them forever spreading such mis-information about DSU. You should check your Presidents responibilties. One of them is probably that they should attend *all* DSU Council meetings. If they actually got involved and spoke for their Colleges like they were voted for, then they'd might know more about DSU. If they are not attending then you should probably censure them for not doing job, as most of them are award they should be going to DSU Council. If they did then the whole system might actually work better. As their input is very important at such meetings.
