Since people pester me for one.

This first list is in order of preference

1. Classic Shell Scripting, £17.46.
2. The C Programming Language (2nd Edition), £26.84.
3. Advanced Perl Programming, £19.95.
4. The Exim SMTP Mail Server: Official Guide for Release 4, £26.25.
5. Advanced Programming in the UNIX Environment, £39.84.

• Sed and Awk, £17.46.
• Sed & Awk Pocket Reference, £5.56.
• Perl Template Toolkit, £19.95.
• Mailscanner: User Guide and Training Manual, £30.00.

The older list

Okay I've only just started this off so it's no way complete. It's in no particular order.

• C Programming Language
• Advanced Programming in the UNIX(R) Environment
• UNIX Power Tools if you ever have money to burn, and it's probably not that useful. Maybe I should remove it.
• Managing NFS and NIS
• Learning the BASH shell
• Sed & Awk
• RC Racer
• A Python book by O'Reily, that would be nice. Maybe this one Learning Python. Or maybe the Programming Python would be better. Whichever.....
• A multimeter, that would be handy so that I can measure things.
• A music CD, preferably one I haven't got. I should really make a list of what I already have. There's an old one my old Warlord Pandemonium [sigh -- nasty frames] but that wouldn't be much use.

djw - stuff I don't want

• A wallet, especially leather ones. As I have found a big pile of them. None of which I've made use of. As I never ever carry any money. So I don't need one you see. There's no need for the slaughter of whatever animal is killed for leather for wallets just for me. And not even one with a 20 pound note in it, as that would just be silly.
• I don't want any beer, or any alocholic drinks for that matter. Since most of the time I cant' drink these days. Which is bloodly annoying. So it just reminds me that I can't do something I like doing.
